Today I have proudly finished planning the trip to Laos.

The schedule is:
-from Bangkok we're flying to Udon Thani and then take a bus to Vientaine in Laos
Crossing the border shouldn't be a big deal, but we need to remember to keep an eye on our luggage as it was reported that the bus driver simply leaves the crossing, if it takes too long to get a visa.

-spend one day in Vientaine, exploring
-bus to Luang Prabang, which will take around 12 hours
-spend 4-5 days in Luang Prabang, walking the streets, visiting temples and, hopefully, talking to monks
-boat to Nong Khiaw, the scenery on the way is apparently stunning
-spend 2 days in Nong Khiaw, relaxing and drinking beer, maybe going for a short trek
-boat to Muang Khua
-bus to Dien Bien Phu in Vietnam
And from there we're taking a 12 hours bus to Hanoi.

Map of the trip

Cost of the trip shouldn't be more than £800, but I'm taking £1000 with me, just in case.

Wow! the whole idea of the trip thrills me to the bone!
